Two Books Two Communities Holds October Events

The Two Books Two Communities program has organized October community events in Marquette and Munising that revolve around this year's Great Lakes-themed selections The Living Great Lakes by Jerry Dennis and Harborless, a collection of poems by Cindy Hunter Morgan.

The following events are free and open to the public:

Tuesday, Oct. 1: Alger Underwater Preserve Presentation with director Pete Lindquist, 6 p.m., Munising Library

Wednesday, Oct. 9: Author Jerry Dennis will give a noon presentation in Munising High School's gymnasium before traveling to Marquette to lead a 4 p.m. writing workshop at NMU's Olson Library and a 7 p.m. presentation with Q&A session at the Northern Center on campus.

After taking a one-year hiatus, the One Book One Community program returned with a new name and second book, and expanded the NMU-Marquette community partnership to include Munising.
