NMU alumna Steph Carpenter, a 2012 graduate, recently began a new role as executive director of the Manistee Recreation Association, according to a story in the "Manistee News Advocate."
Carpenter previously served as the wellness director for the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA, where she was responsible for managing 33 wellness staff including group exercise instructors and certified wellness coaches, managing a budget in excess of $100,000 and coordinating multiple recreational programs within the community for all ages in the Grand Traverse region.
Along with youth recreational programming, the article stated Carpenter also has extensive experience in geriatric recreational planning and community education services.
