The culminating event in the NMU's College of Business' annual new business venture competition featured a trade show and Business After Hours, along with two "Shark Tank"-style competitions. Student Rachel Harvey won the Big Pitch, crowd favorite and best trade show presentation for Superior K9 Aquatic Therapy.
Alex Broullire won best business plan for Cafe Luna, an idea combining coffee and small breakfast foods in the company of cats.
Winners of the judges' choice awards in the Mini Pitch, a more fast-paced, less formal competition, were: Rickey Rietjens and Tyler Watson for Peninsula Produce, which also won crowd favorite; Lauren Wilson for Spin Watt; and Kyle Gustafson for WILDSTEPS.
