The members of Northern Michigan University's Berry Events Center conversion team and their student employees earned a Distinguished Team Award for ensuring NMU's hockey and basketball games are played on schedule.

For a basketball game, several sheets of polar flooring must go down to cover the ice, with additional layers of heavy basketball flooring placed on top. The team also brings out the hoops, equipment and seating. All of this is done to then pack it back up at the end for the next hockey game. The process is done 20-35 times a season.
