Jason Doney, BSN RN, has been a part-time clinical instructor for the School of Nursing since fall 2016. He brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to his position as an instructor in adult-health I nursing. As a registered nurse since 2002, he has worked in the following areas: surgical, pediatrics, emergency room and intensive care, with long stints as a clinical manager and trauma program manager.

Doney's passion for nursing is effusive. He is a popular choice as a clinic instructor and students leave his tutelage excited about the profession and keen to espouse the need to keep safe patient care central to their practice. He expects excellence and pushes his students through comfort zones and into confidence.

Doney's varied background and currency in intensive care nursing allows for the creation of unique teaching moments in the clinical setting, yet what students really admire is his humble approach with patients and colleagues. He is the consummate role model of professional nursing for Northern's BSN students.
