Northern Michigan University will host an evening with musher Jeff King, four-time champion of the 1,049-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. His presentation begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in John X. Jamrich Hall room 1100. It is free for NMU students with ID and $2 for the general public.
In addition to his Iditarod victories, King has earned 24 first-place titles, including the 1,000-mile Yukon International Sled Dog Race. Over the past 40 years, he has logged more than 150,000 miles across North America on his dog sled. To put that into perspective, King has been around the earth six times on a dog sled.
King was inducted into the Iditarod Hall of Fame in 1999. His book, Cold Hands, Warm Heart, shares a lifetime of his adventure stories.
This event is sponsored by Platform Personalities and the Student Activity Fee.
