Invent@NMU has expanded its presence on campus with a remote kiosk located at Lydia Olson Library. A "New Year, New Ideas" launch event, with a chance to win an Apple iPad, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, on the first floor of Elizabeth and Edgar Harden Hall (formerly known as the Learning Resources Center). The kiosk creates another opportunity for inventors and entrepreneurs to learn about the services offered, submit an idea for a product, business or invention, and receive a free QuickExplore™ review and response from the Invent@NMU team within three business days.
“With the addition of the kiosk on campus, it is our hope to encourage the NMU community to share their ideas,” says Ray Johnson, Executive Director of Invent@NMU. “We want everyone on campus to utilize the product and business resources we have available to them and take the first step in bringing their ideas to life.”
NMU will be home to the third remote kiosk to be stationed throughout the Upper Peninsula; the others are located in Gogebic County and the Village of Calumet. A fourth is scheduled to launch in the City of Negaunee in February as part of the Moving Forward campaign.
