Northern Michigan University MPA graduate Michael Stelmaszek ('96)has been hired as the new Kingsford city manager, after filling the same role in St. Ignace. He previously worked as a Kingsford Public Safety officer for 25 years, including three months as acting director.
Stelmaszek was one of five candidates interviewed for the position, according to the Iron Mountain Daily News. He will serve as assistant city manager until January, when the current city manager retires.
In addition to his MBA from NMU, Stelmaszek holds a bachelor's in criminal justice and a master's in business administration, both from Lake Superior State University.
