NCLL Woodworking Rally Begins

The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will host a Woodworking Rally from 8 a.m. to noon on six consecutive Mondays, beginning Sept. 9 and ending Oct. 14. The sessions will be held in room 137 of Northern Michigan University's Jacobetti Center.

Instructors will guide the class in making woodworking ideas reality by providing tools, instruction, safety tips, finishing techniques and more. Use of various tools and machinery in the NMU shop is included in the registration fee. Participants must provide plans and materials.

The six-session program costs $30 for NCLL members and $60 for nonmembers. Register by calling 227-2979. Contact event liaison Jan Hruska by phone at 225-1871 or by email at for more information.

The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is organized by and primarily for actively engaged seniors interested in pursuing intellectual, recreational and/or social activities. Membership is open to adults of any age and membership is not needed to attend programs and events. For details on monthly activities, visit
