Northern Michigan University's spring commencement will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, in the Superior Dome. There are 1,012 undergrad and graduate students eligible to graduate in May, and the 879 who will participate in the ceremony include both May and August 2023 grads.
At 2 p.m. Saturday in Jamrich 1100, the NMU Wildcat Battalion will induct nine new second lieutenants at a commissioning ceremony. Below are other commencement-related activities being held in advance:
-Graduating nurses will have their pinning ceremony at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 5, in Jamrich 1100. The ceremony is open to the public, and 35 of the 36 graduates will attend.
-A lavender ceremony will celebrate the achievements of LGBTQ+ graduates from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in Forest Roberts Theatre.
-A multicultural ceremony recognizing the graduation and accomplishments of students of color and international students will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, in Forest Roberts Theatre.
