An exhibition of creative works by Northern Michigan University School of Art & Design faculty will open with a free, public reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at NMU's DeVos Art Museum. The Faculty Biennial Exhibition highlights diverse achievements in all media and concentrations.
This year's exhibition features Nathan Bett, Daric Christian, Tim Cleary, Alex Fekete, Andrew Gingerich, Steven Hughes, Brian Kakas, Emily Lanctot, Stephan Larson, Christine Lenzen, Michael Letts, Gabrielle McNally, Jane Milkie, Jason Schneider, Alison Taras, Tracy Wascom and Dale Wedig.
Also on view is "Snowdrift," an accumulation of artwork from the museum's permanent collection that examines the many expressions of snow. Winter is an important season for Yoopers, and residents thrive by engaging in cold-weather activities.
The DeVos Art Museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday, and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday. Admission is free.
