The Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company will present a performance at Northern Michigan University that focuses on telling historic tales and stories using traditional Native songs and dances. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Forest Roberts Theatre. A Theatre for All sensory friendly performance will be held at 1 p.m.

Woodland Sky was established in 2013, comprising Native American Ojibwe, Lakota, Potawatomi, Menominee and Apache dancers. The group represents men's and women's Native American styles, including traditional, fancy, jingle, grass and hoop.

Audience members are invited to join the cast and creative team at a reception after the 7:30 p.m. show that will feature complimentary food and beverages.

NMU Theatre & Dance is hosting the performance. Tickets are $17 for the general public; $12 for NMU faculty and staff, seniors, and military; $10 for students; and $5 for NMU students. They can be purchased online at tickets.nmu.edu.
