NMU Participates in 4th of July Events

Brock and Kristin Tessman with their daughters

Northern Michigan University President Brock Tessman and his family will participate in a meet and greet at the NMU-sponsored tent at Lower Harbor Park after the 2 p.m. July 4th parade through downtown Marquette. There will be giveaways of bottled water, NMU swag and patriotic and Wildcat cookies provided by Northern Lights Dining.

“The 4th of July is a time when a lot of people come back to Marquette,” said NMU Director of Partnerships and Events Jeff Korpi. “I think it creates an avenue for Brock to meet alumni who are back in town and be able to connect with folks and families who might not be around during the academic year. It's just a great opportunity to be where a lot of people will gather this holiday to mingle and meet some folks.”

Korpi also mentioned that the NMU-sponsored tent will be up for the entirety of Food Fest July 2-4. For a full list of 4th of July activities in Marquette, click here.
