The preferred submission date for applications from prospective candidates for Northern Michigan University's next president was Aug. 1. The Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) will gain access to their curriculum vitae and other materials beginning Aug. 10, and meet about two weeks later to select candidates for initial interviews.
“We're conducting a fully open search, and the process is moving along,” said PSAC Chair Chris Greer. “Applications have been coming in and the pool looks promising, though we won't be able to see their full credentials until next week. We will choose candidates to interview via Zoom and then whittle it down to three or four finalists. When those finalists come to Marquette for on-campus interviews, we encourage faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members to participate.”
The PSAC's initial Zoom interviews are scheduled Sept. 7 and 9. On-campus interviews will be held the weeks of Sept. 12 and 19. Specific times and dates will be shared via email and posted on the presidential search website, where the finalists' vitae will be made public shortly before they arrive at Northern.
The NMU Board of Trustees will also meet with each finalist on campus before a scheduled announcement of the new president the week of Sept. 26.
