Northern Michigan University is sponsoring the U.S. Ski and Snowboard (USSS) MidAmerica Series, the premier race series within the Central Division. At the first event, held Dec. 13-15 at Nub's Nob in Harbor Springs, Mich., two NMU students were among the top three finishers in Sunday's FIS MidAm Slalom.
Senior Garret Lundteigen, who also was a member of the Wildcat football team, placed first in Sunday's FIS MidAm Slalom. Brad Seaborg, a member of the NMU Alpine club, placed third, but finished first in the Saturday slalom event.
Upcoming races in the series are: Jan. 3-6, Spirit Mountain and Lutsen; Feb. 7-9, Lacrosse, Wis.; and March 26-29, Lutsen.
