NMU Wildcat Den Offers World Taste Tour

World Languages Week

Northern Michigan University will host “Taste Tour of the World” lunches at the Wildcat Den in the University Center from Tuesday, March 19 through Thursday, March 21. Each day will feature cuisine from a different country—France, Germany and Spain—in celebration of World Languages Week. The meals will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are free for NMU students with a meal plan. General admission is $9.75 and children can eat for $5.75. The menus follow:

French cuisine on Tuesday will include beef bourguignon with a baguette, ratatouille, chocolate eclairs and creme brulee.

German features on Wednesday will be pork schnitzel with lemon butter, spaetzle and red cabbage, pretzel bites with craft beer cheese sauce and whole grain mustard, german chocolate cake and black forest torte.

Spanish cuisine on Thursday will include chicken and rice with chorizo, potato bravas with bravas sauce and garlic aioli, tarta de santiago (Spanish almond cake) and churros.

This event is sponsored by the NMU Languages, Literatures and International Studies Department in collaboration with the Multicultural Education and Resource Center and Dining Services.
