NoMAD, a Northern Michigan University student organization that promotes local and underground music, is hosting an event featuring female-led rock and punk bands titled “Ra Ra Rock for Your Rights” at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8 in the Northern Center Grand Ballroom. NoMAD is short for Northern Michigan Artist Discovery.

The bands that are performing are Addicus, a Marquette pop grunge/midwest emo band; Sorry Mom, a New York-based femme queer punk band; Cherry Glazerr, a California-based grunge punk/new wave band; and Destroy Boys, a California-based punk/post-punk band.

Tickets for the show are free for students and $10 (cash only) for the general public. Donations to the Marquette Women's Center will also be collected and highly encouraged. The Women's Center provides programs and services designed to protect, educate, advocate, counsel and empower. NoMAD will also partner with student group Feminism for All, which will provide information outside the event.
