WNMU-TV is hosting a red sweater event to commemorate the Marquette premiere of the Fred Rogers biographical drama, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starring Tom Hanks. The event will take place Friday, Nov. 22, at the Thomas Theatre Group in Marquette.
Those interested are encouraged to arrive dressed in their favorite red sweaters or cardigans. Door prizes, Mr. Rogers memorabilia and specialty “red sweater” sugar cookies will be provided. “Mr. Rogers has been an icon on Public Television for a very long time,” said Public TV-13 broadcast manager Bob Thompson. “The staff at WNMU-TV want to support the release of It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood by greeting Mr. Rogers fans and celebrate what this great man did for children all over the world.”
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood depicts a journalist for Esquire being assigned to profile beloved television icon Mr. Rogers.
