NMU Provost Kerri Schuiling presents a July update of activities in her division related to the Strategic Resource Allocation (SRA) process, a restructuring proposal and strategic plan for Academic Affairs, and efforts to develop a proposal for a campus innovation institute.

NMU alumnus Richard Anderson ('78 MA) participated in a panel discussion titled “Rural Renewal: How Small Towns in the Heartland are Making a Comeback” at the Aspen Ideas Festival in late June. He is co-founder and COO of the family-owned Iron Fish Distillery, established in 2016 on an abandoned farmstead in Thompsonville, Mich.

Northern Michigan University Continuing Education and Workforce Development will host a free program for businesses looking to enter the defense and homeland security sectors from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the Northern Center (formerly University Center).
