NMU Choirs Perform at St. Peter Cathedral

Oct. 9, 2018 —

The University Choir and Arts Chorale of NMU will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Peter Cathedral. Directed by Dr. Erin Colwitz, the choirs will present “Music for a Grand Space," featuring choral music suited for the acoustics of a cathedral. There is no admission charge.

Featured selections include music by Lauridsen, Palestrina, Ticheli, Culloton and Rutter to prepare for the group's performance at the 2018 American Choral Director’s Association Conference in Kalamazoo.

SRA Forum Addresses Questions

Oct. 4, 2018 —
An Oct. 3 campus forum on the Strategic Resource Allocation (SRA) project served mainly as an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to ask questions about the process. In his opening statement, President Fritz Erickson addressed confusion related to the five quintiles that programs fall under in the reports completed by the academic and support task forces.

Project Connects Researchers with Public

Oct. 4, 2018 —
Allison Opheim was one of five NMU Honors Program students selected for a Lundin Summer Research Fellowship. Her project was titled “Communicating Scientific Research in a Social Media Age.” The senior public relations major constructed a communication tool kit for sharing research on social media platforms after reviewing existing resources and working with NMU research labs.
