Northern Michigan University alumna Kathryn Flagstadt of Marquette has been appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services. The retired site manager at Michigan Rehabilitation Services is a member of the State Employee Retirees Association and the Marquette County Aging Services Advisory Committee.
Flagstadt holds a bachelor of science in business administration and management from NMU and a master of social work from Michigan State University. She was appointed to represent vocational rehabilitation programs for a term that expires on Dec. 31, 2025.
The Michigan Council for Rehabilitation Services reviews, analyzes and advises Michigan's rehabilitation programs and services, and advises the department director and governor. The council works in partnership with Michigan Rehabilitation Services and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs' Bureau of Services for Blind Persons.
