Alumnus is MSP-Negaunee Post Commander

NMU criminal justice alumnus Thomas Nolan (AS '05) was recently promoted to first ;ieutenant and commander of the Michigan State Police-Negaunee post.

According to an MSP release, he is responsible for the post's operation and the Munising detachment, which represent all MSP services in Marquette and Alger Counties.

Nolan enlisted with the department in 2000 and graduated as a member of the 119th Trooper Recruit School. During his 20-year career, he has served at the Reed City Post, the Munising Post and the Negaunee Post. He has held the ranks of trooper and uniform sergeant prior to taking on this new leadership role.

Nolan is an Upper Peninsula native and Munising High School graduate.
