Business Ownership Transfers from Alumnus to Former Student

When 1983 alumnus and NMU Foundation Board member Mark Pynnonen decided to retire from his Signs Now business in Negaunee Township, he transferred ownership to another member of the Wildcat family. Keven Hagans, who attended NMU from 2007-2010 and played football for the Wildcats, is the new owner.

Pynnonen won't step away completely; he plans to help out occasionally. Signs Now has been creating graphics and logos for more than 25 years, including some featured on the entrance to NMU's Berry Events Center.

“Everyone Mark has introduced me to is saying I have big shoes to fill, my goal for the future is to go after new business,” Keven Hagans said in a TV6 interview.
