NMU alumna Liz Conway recently assumed the role of president and CEO of the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce. She holds two degrees from Northern: a bachelor's in management earned in 2002; and an MBA earned in 2005.
In more than 20 years of nonprofit and managerial experience, Conway "has developed a sharp eye for relationship building, organizational management, strategic planning and communications," stated her bio on the chamber website. She said she is excited to work with local businesses to build a strong and vibrant community.
Other roles Conway has held include the director of membership and underwriting at WCMU Public Media, executive director of the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum, and executive director at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lancaster County, Pa.
Her passion for public service stemmed from her service as an AmeriCorps volunteer, during which she helped students develop entrepreneurial programs.
