NMU's president, Dr. Fritz Erickson, kicked off the new academic year by addressing faculty and staff at the 2019 Fall Convocation.
Growth and change at the university were the keys themes of his remarks as he highlighted many accomplishments of the recent years and shared insights on future changes. Highlights included positive enrollment growth, investments in academic programs and learning spaces, new facilities and updating of older buildings. He also reported on the status of the Strategic Resource Allocation process and the work being done related to developing big ideas and possible donor investment opportunities.
Also speaking at the convocation were Kerri Schuiling, provost, and Alec Lindsay, chair of the academic senate.
