'Food for Fines' Returns to NMU

“Food for Fines” returns to Northern Michigan University, giving individuals an opportunity to alleviate parking fines by contributing non-perishable food items or personal care products to the NMU Food Pantry. The NMU Police Department will accept donations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, through Dec. 9.

Students, faculty and the public who received a campus parking fine can erase $25 of the amount due by donating one full paper bag of items. The offer is limited to one citation issued after Aug. 8, 2022. The names of those who contribute to the NMU Food Pantry will be entered into a drawing for a free NMU parking permit or a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card.

Contact NMU Parking Services at 906-227-1476, or email parking@nmu.edu for questions.
