Northern Michigan University Continuing Education and Workforce Development will host a free program for businesses looking to enter the defense and homeland security sectors from noon to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, in the Northern Center (formerly University Center). The registration deadline is July 17.
The event begins with a complementary lunch at noon. A panel discussion featuring defense industry experts is scheduled from 12:30-1:30 and breakout sessions on cybersecurity and talent recruitment/retention will be held from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
NMU is working with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) and the Michigan Defense Center to assist businesses in reducing identified barriers that may be preventing entry or growth in these sectors, such as targeted training or business development resources.
To register for the program, call 227-2103 or email conteduc@nmu.edu.
