HVAC Student Awarded Scholarship

Northern Michigan University student Scott Pendergraft was among 47 recipients of a total $81,000 in scholarship awards presented to those studying to become technicians in the HVACR and water heating industry. The funding is provided by the Clifford H. "Ted" Rees Jr. Scholarship Foundation charitable foundation of the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

"Each year, the foundation provides aid to these aspiring technicians, helping to promote careers in the industry and fill good-paying jobs that cannot be outsourced," said Stephen Yurek, CEO and president of AHRI, in a press release. "We are pleased to award scholarships to these qualified and dedicated students, and we look forward to welcoming them into the industry."

Pendergraft is a sophomore majoring in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration studies.
