Sean Penglase, equipment and stockroom manager for Northern Michigan University's Physics Department, received an Innovation Award. He uses practical knowledge and a deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, acoustic and other apparati to bring improvements to many labs.
Penglase made it possible to demonstrate physics concepts in new and better ways. The introductory classes are populated by future teachers, chemists, sports scientists, mechanical engineers and medical professionals. They are receiving a higher quality experience at NMU because Penglase's contributions enhance and improve their laboratory experiences.
