Sara Kurche of Ypsilanti, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University School of Education, Leadership and Public Service 2020-21 outstanding graduating graduate student from the learning disabilities program. In December 2020, she earned her Master of Arts in education with a concentration in learning disabilities.
Kurche's work in the education program was consistent in quality and demonstrated a commitment to personal growth and the growth of students, according to her biography for the award.
In a final reflection, Kurche said, “My wish is that I continue to grow and learn in my career. That I continue to seek out feedback and collaborate so that I learn new ways to engage my students and understand their needs.”
