Moriarty an NMU Outstanding Graduate

Robin Moriarty of East Lansing, Mich., has been named the Northern Michigan University Department of Mathematics and Computer Science 2020-21 outstanding graduating senior. With a cumulative 4.0 grade-point average, Moriarty is graduating May 1 with degrees in both mathematics and computer science. 

In late 2020, Moriarty completed his senior project of studying database management systems. He has been a member of Sigma Iota Gamma and the school chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He has competed in NMU and ACM programming contests. Moriarty also volunteered to help with the 10th annual Upper Peninsula High School Math Challenge.

NMU's virtual commencement will be held at 10 a.m. EST Saturday, May 1. Bryan Terrell Clark, a Broadway performer who played George Washington in Hamilton, will be the keynote speaker. Learn more about commencement and access a link to watch it live at www.nmu.edu/commencement.
