NMU Lacrosse Team Helps St. Vincent's Food Pantry

The lacrosse team volunteering at St. Vincent's food pantry

The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team, under the leadership of head coach Lindsey (LeMay) Majkrzak, volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry in Marquette at 9 a.m. on a recent snowy Saturday to help sort and package can-a-thon donations.

Pantry manager Bob Barton said about 30 people from Northern helped out.

"Coach Lindsey has volunteered to help us for three years in a row now since I have been involved in this," he added. "The experience was awesome. They worked really hard sorting, assembling boxes, making up boxes and bags of food, and restocking shelves. We had a lot of fun. They played Christmas music and really got into it. It is a great team-building experience for them."
