Six Northern Michigan University music majors will perform vocally and on instruments to vie for scholarships during the annual Music Performance Competition at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free.

The event features some of the strongest music majors whose instructors nominated them to represent their studios in the performance. Scholarship prizes are awarded to the top three performers based on the recommendations of music faculty who serve as judges. The winners will be announced at the end of the performance.

This year's participants will include Noah Nettell on piano, Nicholas Wegrzyn on saxophone, John Fatla with voice, Heide Gallagher on clarinet, Anna Morozov with voice and Darren Hicks on marimba.
