Northern Michigan University ranks 24th among the nation's best bachelor's degree programs in organizational/applied workplace leadership and 30th for its bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship, according to national rankings released by Study.com.
NMU's applied workplace leadership degree is designed for non-traditional students and returning adult learners with completed associate degrees in any field or previous college credit. The courses in the online program help students develop the skills that employers value in project leaders, team leaders and managers.
The major emphasizes the use of critical thinking, ethical decision-making, goal-oriented communication, observational and quantitative data in decision-making and ways in which diversity can be leveraged for improved workplace climate and productivity. NMU's entrepreneurship major is designed for students who want to develop their own businesses. It provides a comprehensive knowledge of accounting, finance, management, marketing and computer information systems as these areas relate to entrepreneurial business. Study.com's school ranking lists are created using a proprietary ranking system that includes data from the U.S. Department of Education and school details, according to its website. The rankings focus on quality school programs that provide a high-value education, while still being accessible and affordable.
“To compile this list we considered hundreds of universities across the country and selected Northern Michigan University based on academic and career resources, the quality of education, faculty and more,” wrote Study.com's education research manager in an email notification.
