As part of its 125th anniversary celebration this year, Northern Michigan University is collecting stories and reflections from alumni, faculty, staff and community members to share throughout 2024 across various NMU platforms. Photos and recordings up to a minute in length are also welcome.

Individuals can respond to some or all of the following questions and prompts on the NMU Blog site (visit nmu.edu/blog/share and select “125th Anniversary” from the “Choose One” drop-down menu):

1. What is your NMU connection? (e.g. “I was a student in the ‘70s” or “I worked at NMU for 20 years”)

2. What is your favorite NMU memory or story?

3. Who was the most influential person you met during your time at NMU and why were they so influential?

4. Share the significance of any teams, clubs or organizations you were part of during your time at NMU.

5. What is/was your favorite thing to do in Marquette?

6. Were there any significant/memorable sporting events, weather occurrences or other on-campus activities?

7. Share any dorm/roommate stories you may have.

8. What is your current or former profession?

9. How did NMU help you get to where you are today?

Recorded responses will be broadcast on NMU's Radio X during Homecoming weekend for its special 125th anniversary celebration show. Other stories will be shared via Northern Magazine; the university's Northern Today news site; NMU and NMU Alumni social media channels; the NMU Blog; and the Central U.P. and NMU Archives' UPLINK (Upper Peninsula Digital Network) project.

Photos and/or recorded responses are limited to a maximum of four files/10 MB. Participation implies consent for NMU Marketing and Communications to use quote(s), photo(s) and/or written content in promotional materials. Edits may be made for spelling, clarity or length.
