NMU Spotlight Variety Show Sept. 8-9

Northern Michigan University Theatre and Dance will present its third annual Spotlight Variety Show to kick off the fall semester at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8-9, in Forest Roberts Theatre. The show features 24 acts, including singers, monologue performances and magic.

“This is a great event to start the season because we get to see fresh faces with all of the new students in our programs, and we like to get them on stage and involved in our community as quickly as possible,” said Jill Grundstrom, assistant department head. “We're excited about this year because our new BFA in acting program will also be represented.”

Students being featured in the show auditioned for directors Paul Truckey and Jimmy Ludwig, both faculty members at NMU.

Tickets are $17 for the general public, $12 for military, seniors and NMU faculty/staff, $10 for students up to 18 years of age, and $5 for NMU students. They are available at tickets.nmu.edu.
