Northern Michigan University's Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter will be hosting its fourth annual Marquette Coffee Crawl on Saturday, April 23. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Marquette Women's Center in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).

Participants can choose from the following time options: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.;10 a.m. to noon; and noon to 2 p.m.

During the Marquette Coffee Crawl, 375 participants will begin at the Upper Peninsula Children's Museum and journey through Marquette, taste-testing local coffee houses' top brews.

Tickets to the Marquette Coffee Crawl are priced at $16, equivalent to the cost of one night's stay at the Marquette Women's Center.

“Any money we make from [the coffee crawl] we donate to the Women's Center," said PRSSA President Bri Sartin. "For that reason, I think a lot of our ties are outside of NMU, which is kind of what's different about us. Our ticketing is $16, which is around the cost to stay at the women's center overnight, so our pricing is strategic in that way.”

There are 10 shops participating this year: The Crib, Contrast Coffee Co, 231 West Patisserie, Java Bay, Trenary Toast Cafe, Iron Bay Restaurant, Babycakes Muffin Co, Velodrome Coffee Company, Cruisin' and Dead River Coffee Roasters.

PRSSA is a pre-professional student organization for students studying public relations, communications, marketing and other related fields of study. NMU's chapter of PRSSA is responsible for all of the planning and coordinating of the Marquette Coffee Crawl.
