Student Donates Dining Dollars to Food Pantry

McCann's Contributions

To help Northern Michigan University's Food Pantry during the COVID-19 pandemic, freshman social work major Jacob McCann decided to use his remaining Dining Dollars to purchase food and donate it to the pantry.

“I knew I wouldn't be able to use all the Dining Dollars I had before the year was over,” said McCann. “I knew they wouldn't carry over to next year, either. I wanted to do something with the money instead of wasting it, so I got in contact with the food pantry and asked if I could donate the money to them.”

Items that McCann purchased for the pantry shelves included canned soup, potato chips and a variety of breakfast cereals.
