Northern Michigan University Alumni Relations will host two virtual events as part of its Northern Now series for NMU alumni and friends: a holiday cooking segment on Wednesday, Dec. 13; and a chat with President Brock Tessman on Wednesday, Jan. 17. Both begin at 7 p.m. EST.
Chef Alden MacDonald CEC '10 BS, an instructor in NMU's Hospitality Leadership program, will lead a virtual cooking segment to help prepare for the holidays. Alongside hospitality management student Faith Roush, MacDonald will evoke nostalgia with appetizer recipes, including hot apple cider, that are perfect to bring to any gathering. She will be cooking inside the state-of-the-art teaching kitchen at the Northern Center and guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the facility virtually. Register here.
During his Jan. 17 virtual chat, Tessman will share campus updates, answer questions, and virtually connect with alumni and friends of the Wildcat community. The event will begin with a welcome from NMU Alumni Advisory Board President Chris Charboneau ('93 BS). Questions will be taken live during the event via the Q&A function on Zoom, and alumni can submit questions ahead of time during registration. Alumni and friends can register here.
Both events are free and advance registration is required at the links above or at nmu.edu/alumni. Those who register will receive the link to the live stream. NMU Alumni Relations can be contacted at alumni@nmu.edu.
Northern Now is a digital event series for alumni and friends that provides a behind-the-scenes look at NMU students, departments, athletics, and more on campus with exclusive tours, interviews, and interactive events.
