NCLL Offers Photography Workshops

The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “More than Beginning Photography” workshops. The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 19. Sessions are scheduled from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: March 27, April 24, May 22 and June 26 in 404-A Cohodas Hall. Participants are invited to attend one or all sessions for $1 per session for NCLL members and $6 for non-members.

NCLL Explores Ending Hunger Alliance

The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present a program on Ending Hunger Alliance in Marquette's effort to feed children in need. The discussion will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at the Peter White Public Library Shiras Room. It is open to the public and free to attend with the option of donating non-perishable food items.

Meijer Helps Fuel NMU Student-Athletes

Northern Michigan University and Meijer representatives today participated in a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Meijer Student-Athlete Fueling Station in the NMU Superior Dome. The station, which offers grab-and-go snacks and drinks to Wildcat athletes free of charge, is the newest component of a multi-layered master sponsorship agreement with the Grand Rapids-based retailer. Meijer has contributed gift cards valued at $15,000 annually to NMU Intercollegiate Athletics to keep the fueling station stocked.

NCLL Offers Stone Countertops Program

The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present a program on how natural stone countertops are cut and finished at Stone Reflections, followed by a Dutch treat lunch at Jackson's Pit. The event is scheduled from 10:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, with a registration deadline of Thursday, March 7. Cost is $3 for NCLL members and $6 for non-members. To register, call 227-2979.
