Northern Michigan University's Global Campus is hosting an Online and Onward webinar series as a “convenient next step” for prospective students who intend to study in an online program at NMU. Prospective students can choose from a variety of webinar dates and topics.
“These events are a great way to connect with faculty and staff, engage with other prospective students and learn about your interests related to online learning at NMU,” said Dan Freeborn, assistant director of marketing and enrollment for Global Campus.
An Online Learning with NMU webinar will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, and noon Wednesday, Nov. 11. Topics addressed will include pre-admission unofficial degree evaluations, academic resources for online learners, available online program offerings, cost and admission requirements.
An RN to BSN Online Degree Completion webinar will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. Topics addressed will include the timeline for degree completion, project-based clinical experiences, advanced placement credit, personalized plans of study, leadership, cost and admission requirements.
An Applied Workplace Leadership Online Bachelor's Degree webinar will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. The applied workplace leadership degree maximizes the use of transfer credit and enables students to take an active approach to learning leadership skills in their workplace. Topics addressed will include course transfer, applied nature of the program, unofficial degree evaluations, cost and admission requirements.
Other webinars and dates are: MLT to MLS: Laboratory Medicine Online Degree Completion, 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20; Psychology Online Bachelor's Degree, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7; and a Criminal Justice/Loss Prevention Management Online Bachelor's Degrees at a date and time to be determined,
Prospective students can browse webinar topics and register for sessions at https://nmu.edu/online/virtual-events. All events are free and will be hosted via Zoom. Those who register will receive meeting details and login information in emails leading up to each event. Additional events will be added throughout the fall semester.
