Percussion Group Cincinnati will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, in Reynolds Recital Hall as part of Northern Michigan University's Siril Concert Series. The event is free and open to the public.

Fiction writer Carmen Maria Machado will visit Northern Michigan University to read from her works and give a presentation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in 1322 Jamrich Hall. 

Actress Angela Kinsey, best known for her role on the NBC television series The Office, will give a presentation at Northern Michigan University. The event is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in Jamrich 1100. The presentation is free for students with a valid NMU ID and $2 for general public.

The Beaumier Heritage Concert Series will present Hungarian folk group Söndörgő at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Kaufman Auditorium. The performance in Marquette is the first stop on the North American leg of the group's international tour, which began on March 20 in Budapest, Hungary, and is expected to conclude May 11 in Zürich, Switzerland.

Northern Michigan University's Forest Roberts Theatre will present Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12-Saturday, April 13 and Thursday, April 18-Saturday, April 20, with a matinee performance at 1 p.m. on April 20.

Poets Francine J. Harris and Marcus Wicker will visit Northern Michigan University to read from their works and give a joint presentation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Jamrich Hall 1322. The event is hosted by the NMU Visiting Writers Program and admission is free.

The Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company will perform at Northern Michigan University's Forest Roberts Theatre on Friday, March 15. An educational performance for school classrooms, home-school groups and other educational organizations is scheduled for 11 a.m. A public performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the evening event are $5 and there will be a meet and greet in the lobby of FRT following the performance.

The NMU Center for Upper Peninsula Studies has published the latest volume of Upper Country: A Journal of the Lake Superior Region.

The Northern Michigan University Student Performing Arts Association presents Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 14-Saturday, March 16 at the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre. Admission is free. Written by playwright Eric Coble, Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe is a collection of four tales originally written by Poe: “The Raven,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” “The Pit and the Pendulum” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
