NMU Reopens Tennis Courts

Northern Michigan University has officially reopened its tennis courts located off Wright Street near the intramural fields. All eight courts have been resurfaced and four are lined for pickleball. New nets and security cameras have also been installed.

NMU Hosts UNITED Conference

Northern Michigan University will hold its 14th annual Uniting Neighbors in the Experience of Diversity (UNITED) Conference Sept. 23-24 in Ballroom I and II of the Northern Center. UNITED is a yearly conference composed of a broad range of presentations focusing on diversity and inclusion.

NMU Program Options Presented in Escanaba, Iron Mountain

Northern Michigan University will host informational events in Escanaba and Iron Mountain, where non-traditional students can learn about career-advancing business programs offered completely or partially online. Programs include a new bachelor of applied science in management degree, a graduate certificate in health informatics and a master of business administration (MBA).

Overcoming Mental Illness Stigma Addressed

The importance of openly discussing mental illness and overcoming its associated stigma will be the focus of a presentation at Northern Michigan University on Thursday, Sept. 26. English Professor Kia Jane Richmond, author of Mental Illness in Young Adult Literature: Exploring Real Struggles Through Fictional Characters, will lead the discussion at 7 p.m. in Jamrich 1100. The event is free and open to the public.
