Northern Michigan University and SISU: The Innovation Institute have announced that NMU is now a designated Adobe Creative Campus. This recognition highlights NMU's commitment to equipping students and employees with the essential digital skills and creativity toolkit needed to thrive in today's dynamic and ever-evolving landscape.

As an Adobe Creative Campus, NMU joins a select group of institutions that provide full access to the Adobe Suite of software, which offers a comprehensive range of tools for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography and more.

"Students and employees can enhance their digital literacy, collaborate more effectively, bring creative visions to life, build a personal brand, prepare for the challenges of an increasingly digital world, and achieve goals at NMU and beyond," said Bill Digneit, director of SISU: The Innovation Institute at NMU. "Users will stand out with video, podcasts, webpages and data visualization, and work with the latest generative AI features from Adobe Firefly."

By integrating Adobe Creative Campus into the curriculum, Digneit said NMU ensures that its graduates are well-equipped to meet the demands of various industries, from media and entertainment to marketing and design.

"Our students are our top priority, and providing them with access to the Adobe Suite of software gives them a significant advantage," he added. "This initiative will allow our students to build impressive portfolios, gain practical experience and stand out to potential employers."

NMU students can take courses and earn certified badges from Adobe, demonstrating their skills in communicating visually, establishing a social media presence, and understanding generative AI.

"By embracing the Adobe Creative Campus program, NMU is not only enhancing its academic offerings, but also demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to education," Digneit added.

The availability of the Adobe Suite of software to NMU community members also fosters a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, he said. Faculty members can incorporate these tools into their teaching methodologies, enhancing the delivery of course content and encouraging innovative projects. Additionally, staff members can leverage Adobe's tools to streamline workflows and create engaging materials for the NMU community.

This effort has been supported by the following NMU entities: the Center for Teaching and Learning; Library and Instructional Support; NMU IT; and Academic Affairs. For more information about NMU's Adobe Creative Campus initiative, visit https://www.nmu.edu/creativecampus.
